It would not give any information about the fan, and all it would say about the sensors is "no configuration file found. Then a general hardware test showed that hard drive, GPU, processor, ram, logic board, and most other parts check out fine, however it flagged the fan and sensors sections. They ran the specific test for GPU failure and it passed. I took it to the apple store two days ago and had diagnostics run, which it will stay running for. About Two years ago apple had to put a new logic board and everything in it. ![]() This computer has experienced the GPU failure that these MacBooks were recalled for in the past. Resetting the pram and smc does not help. I initially thought this was the SSD that I installed a few months ago failing, however when I put the original HDD back in, it behaves the exact same way. I can start it by pressing shift+control+option, but it will shut down randomly before OS X can load every time. The only difference that I can tell from what you have said is that mine will not respond to the power button when it is not running, but it can be used to turn the computer off when it is running. It is also a late 2011, 15" macbook pro, i7 2.2 ghz, with the dual intel/amd graphics. ![]() Hello, I just a few days ago discovered that I am having almost the exact same problem with my macbook. ![]()
